Now I need to talk someone else in the family into giving me a project to do. Danny says we don't need anymore quilts;) Hope mom enjoys this one.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter!! We had such a wonderful day celebrating. The boys woke up to find their Easter baskets full of goodies. Next, we headed off to church where we heard a great sermon and the boys even had live baby chicks in their classroom. Some friends came over for lunch and we all ate too much. We ended the day by playing outside and eating leftovers.

It is A LOT of work to get a picture of these sweet boys

The angel said to the woman, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he is risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."

I came across this recipe in my Cooking Light cookbook and we LOVE it. I thought I would share in case anyone is looking for something new to put in their supper rotation.

It is a Falafel with Avocado Spread. Here is the recipe. I made our regular guacamole instead of the spread. So yummy!

We also like this one from pinterest. Check it out here. We eat it over chips or in a tortilla. This is super easy to make and great as leftovers.

On another note, we are SO ready for Spring around here. Our house is decorated for the Easter Bunny though he would freeze his tail off if he stopped by today. I have really enjoyed having all 4 seasons here in Michigan but enough is enough. Bring on the warm weather!!

When mom was here, she decided she needed a new quilt so we ordered some fabric and it's almost done. I hope she likes it.

It's a raw edge quilt so once I put the binding on and wash it, these edges will fray and give a great vintage look.

Next up.....something for my superheros

And just because......

Catch up

I can't seem to keep up with blogging. I'm not sure why but sitting down to do it doesn't cross my mind until it's late and I'm ready for bed. Since my last post, all of the grandparents have been to visit, Fletcher turned 3 and Finn has turned into a little boy.

Fletcher had a great time building gingerbread houses because he got to eat the building materials.

Christmas morning was a blur.

I LOVED going to our first school Christmas program. Fletcher wasn't too sure.

December 28th, Fletcher turned 3!! Where has the time gone? He LOVED his school party.

Finn loves Fletcher's school. He runs wild and cries when it's time to get back in the car. I think he is tired of looking at me all day.

We had a Mickey Mouse party with all the neighborhood kids. We live in the BEST neighborhood!!! All of these kids live on our block. It is so great!

This lady just came for a visit and we had a blast. Mom makes sure we get the camera out when she's here. I need to get better at it with the other grandparents.

Life is going well. Fletcher still has his toddler tantrums but over all is such a sweet boy. He always says please and asks before he does anything. He is cautious and worries about others. Some days he plays great with Finn and others they fight like crazy.

Finn is wild and funny. This little boy isn't afraid of anything and is going to give Fletcher trouble when he gets a little older. He is trying to say everything and loves to read books and watch Disney.

We haven't gotten as much snow as I thought we would. It's cold but bearable. With that being said, I am ready for some heat and sunshine.

Happy Friday

Fletcher

First, look who came to visit!!! Thanks Mimi for the turkey shirts.

Fletcher is challenging me so much these days. Jen always told me that 3 was the hardest age and I completely understand now. He wants to control every situation (just like me, I know). We FIGHT over marshmellows, juice boxes, and what super hero shirt to wear. There are times when he is having a fit and I think back to before I had kids. I would see other children acting horrible and say "that mom needs to tear his rear end up." Well, I want to scream to everyone watching "I have spanked him, done timeout, and ignored him so have at it if you think you can do better"

Don't get me wrong, most of the time he is so sweet and loving but his tantrums are something else. There are times when I say outloud, "God give me patience!!!" All I can do is love him and pray for the precious baby. I know it must be frustrating not to have the vocabulary to express yourself. Poor Finn walks around whining all day. He never knows if he is going to get shoved or tackled. I have to remind myself these days are short lived. I have 2 beautiful, healthy boys and I am head over heels in love.

Clowns

We had a great Halloween! I wasn't prepared for how busy our neighborhood was. We were out of candy in no time flat! I plan to step it up next year with decorations and lots of loot for the trick-or-treaters.

My mother-in-law did it again. AMAZING costumes!!

We got together with some neighbors for some pizza and treats. Needless to say, getting a picture of everyone was tough.
